# San Francisco Porta Potty Rental

> Portable restroom rental in San Francisco and down the northern Peninsula. Two things make this city harder than most for this trade, and both are worth saying plainly. The first is the street itself: putting a unit in the public right of way here needs a street space permit, the placard goes up before the occupancy starts, and how much of the sidewalk or roadway you take is governed rather than assumed. The second is access — hills, narrow streets, no frontage on a downtown site, and buildings under the soft-story retrofit programme where the work runs for months. We cover standard units, ADA-accessible units, handwash stations and flushable trailers, for construction, festivals, weddings and long-term installations.

## Pricing and answers

- [Price guide](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/pricing/): typical price ranges for every service
- [FAQ](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/faq/)
- [Portable Toilet Rental Cost in San Francisco: What Moves the Quote](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/portable-toilet-rental-cost-san-francisco/): This guide does not publish a rental price for San Francisco. Each provider sets its own rate. A quote is built from a short list of factors: unit count and rental term, service visits, accessible units, street permits, and how far the unit must be carried. The provider confirms the price before delivery.
- [Street Space Permits for Portable Toilets in San Francisco](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/portable-toilet-street-permit-san-francisco/): A portable toilet placed on a San Francisco street or sidewalk generally needs a street space permit from San Francisco Public Works. Portable toilets are named among the covered uses, the contractor or property owner pulls the permit, and the placement has limits on how much of the roadway and sidewalk it may take.
- [Event Restroom Counts in San Francisco: Getting the Current Requirement](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/how-many-portable-toilets-san-francisco-event/): San Francisco has no single citywide toilets-per-guest rule that can be cited, and the figures circulating online disagree. Park and street event paperwork sets unit counts by projected attendance, with a share of the units accessible. The current number for your event comes from the agency that issues your permit.
- [Closing a Street for an Event in San Francisco: The ISCOTT Process](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/san-francisco-street-closure-permit-restrooms/): In San Francisco, a street closed for a special event is reviewed by ISCOTT, the interdepartmental committee the SFMTA chairs. Apply at least 30 days ahead, with three months advised for a new event and six for a large one. Park and Port events follow different tracks.
- [California construction toilets: Cal/OSHA sets the count, not a federal summary](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/cal-osha-construction-toilet-requirements/): California job sites are governed by Cal/OSHA Title 8 Section 1526, not by a federal summary. The section requires one separate toilet facility for each 20 employees or fraction thereof, of each sex, lets a single all-gender unit cover crews under five, and allows chemical toilets where water closets are not feasible, subject to local rules.
- [Accessible portable toilets in California: the cluster rule and how it works in practice](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/ada-accessible-portable-toilets-california/): Under the 2010 ADA Standards, where single-user portable toilet units are clustered at one location, no more than 5 percent need to be accessible. California's version adds a floor of one: 5 percent, but no fewer than one, at each cluster. Accessible units must carry the International Symbol of Accessibility.
- [Hillside and stair-access addresses: where a unit can go in San Francisco](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/delivering-porta-potties-on-san-francisco-hills/): On a San Francisco hill a portable toilet often ends up at the curb, because a unit that cannot be carried to the work goes there. Steep grades, stair accesses and shared driveways set how far the unit has to be carried, and a unit placed at the curb usually brings a street space permit into the job.
- [The hauling and disposal chain behind a San Francisco portable toilet](https://sanfranciscoportapottyrental.shop/guides/where-portable-toilet-waste-goes-san-francisco/): Portable toilet waste leaves a site under a chain of registrations and permits. In California, a business that cleans chemical toilets or disposes of the cleanings must register, and counties issue the septage permits. In San Francisco, the SFPUC Wastewater Enterprise permits trucked waste haulers, with a category for portable chemical toilet waste.
